Novosibirsk. "SIBERIA NUEVA" is a guitar duo founded in 2007.
Mikhail Rakin and Kuzma Filimonov are laureates of Russian and international competitions, medalists of the Delphic Games. Their ensemble teamwork is the result of many years of friendship, creative experiments and many performances.
The musicians continue the tradition of Yuri Kuzin's Novosibirsk Guitar School, known for its vibrant sound, virtuosity and expressive delivery. In addition to their active concert activities, Kuzma and Mikhail teach classical guitar and participate in organizing major competitive and educational projects.
The name "SIBERIA NUEVA" ("New Siberia") emphasizes the connection with his native Novosibirsk and reflects the desire of musicians to popularize the Siberian guitar school.
The duo's repertoire covers music from the Baroque to the avant-garde: original works and vivid arrangements. In 2021, the ensemble won the first prize at the S. D. Orekhov Competition (Kazan), won the III All-Russian Music Competition, and became a laureate of the Guitar Foundation of America and the Southern Guitar Festival & Competition (USA).

Alexey Starodubtsev is known in Russia and abroad as a flamenco artist, guitarist, music producer, composer of musical performances and ballets, author of flamenco, ethnic and pop music, and the only pianist in Russia performing original flamenco music. Novosibirsk. Kuzma Filimonov is a Russian guitar virtuoso, winner of international and national competitions. Teacher of the highest category, Senior lecturer at the Novosibirsk State Conservatory. Glinka.
Being a graduate of the legendary Russian teacher, Honored Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation Yuri Kuzin, and having also received the secrets of mastery from the hands of Professor Vladimir Nikolaevich Mityakov of the Nizhny Novgorod Conservatory, Kuzma is the successor of perhaps the best guitar schools in our country - Novosibirsk and Nizhny Novgorod. He conducts extensive concert activities, as well as extensive work as a member of the jury of various competitions. Participates in the organization of the largest Y. Kuzin international classical guitar competition outside the Urals, and directs specialized creative schools.
Kuzma has extensive teaching experience. In addition to the Novosibirsk Conservatory, he teaches at the A.F. Murov College of Music, as well as at the Novosibirsk Special Music School (ten years old), where he educates young laureates, as well as conducts lectures and master classes in various cities of Russia and abroad.
In addition to his solo performing career, Kuzma plays in the duo SIBERIA NUEVA, one of the most striking and distinctive ensembles in the world of modern guitar. In the spring of 2021, the duo of Mikhail Rakin and Kuzma Filimonov won the prestigious first prize at the V International Competition named after S.D. Orekhov in Kazan. And in the fall of 2021, he won a resounding victory at the III All-Russian Music Competition in the nomination "Ensembles of Russian folk Instruments". The Russian guitar duo SIBERIA NUEVA is the winner of the Southern Guitar Festival & Competition (USA, 2021) and the winner of the second prize of the Guitar Foundation of America (Guitar Association of America - GFA, 2021), one of the largest guitar competitions in the world.
